As the famous saying goes, “Variety is the spice of life”.

And this is even more so relevant to what you consume on a daily basis.

When we limit what our food choices are either due to a restrictive diet, food sensitivities, food allergies, or general likes/dislikes, it can reduce how well our bodies operate as we are depriving ourselves of key nutritional information.

Over time, this could create dysfunction within your body, which we never want.

We want to be FUNCTIONAL.

What we want to do is focus on eating a variety of vegetables, fruits, proteins, nuts, seeds, the right carbs & healthy fats, so that we provide the right information for our bodies to thrive.

By doing this, we’ll support our bodies with a greater range of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, amino acids, and essential fats to keep our key body systems running their best.

This is especially true as it relates to your digestive and immune systems.

Look to focus on:

  • Eating the rainbow (ie lots of different colored foods)
  • Eating what’s local
  • Eating what’s in season
  • Try to add in at least one new food per week
  • Work up to target over 40 different foods in your diet
