Let’s focus on the most important lifestyle that is key to your overall metabolic health.
SLEEP!
Without enough quality sleep, your body’s circadian rhythm will become out of alignment which will ultimately impact your metabolic health.
However if you focus on the following tips, you’ll be able to regain control over your sleep and in turn your health:
*Target 7-9 hours of actual sleep each day
*Keep a consistent sleep & wake schedule every day
*Get exposed to natural sunlight for 10-20 minutes within the 1st hour of waking up
*Get 20 minutes of movement each day
*Stay away from bright lights after 7 pm
*Avoid blue light from electronics
*Take breaks from electronics at least 3 times per day
*Keep your bedroom as dark as possible.
*Turn down the thermostat to 60-68 degrees.
*Don’t use electronics 1 hour before bed
*Don’t drink alcohol after 7 pm & limit how much you drink
*Avoid caffeine at least 8-10 hours prior to going to sleep
*Look to eat dinner earlier vs later
*Do not eat after dinner.
*Engage in relaxation techniques 1-2 hours before bed
*Take a warm bath with epson salt & lavender
