A recent study from Oregon State University reviewed the key core essential nutrients in our diets & unfortunately found that most Americans are lacking here.

Here’s the top line of the study in terms of what we are not getting enough for the specific nutrient:

  • 10% for potassium
  • 94% for vitamin D
  • 92% for choline
  • 89% for vitamin E
  • 67% for vitamin K
  • 52% for magnesium
  • 44% for calcium
  • 43% for vitamin A
  • 39% for vitamin C

This should not come to surprise you as we know that the standard American diet is depleted of these nutrients.

Eating a diet high in ultra-processed foods, industrial seed oils, & factory-farmed proteins lacks these key nutrients.

Plus our soil has also become depleted in these key nutrients too due to farmers growing mono-crops & using fertilizer, pesticides, & herbicides.

This leads to a net negative supply of these nutrients and impacts our overall health & wellness as we need these nutrients to properly run our bodies.

When we don’t have these we feel sluggish, don’t sleep well & our memory becomes impaired.

The key is to recognize & understand all of this & then focus on the POSITIVE side of the story.

The GOOD news here is that you can fix this by focusing on incorporating a diverse diet that includes lots of healthy foods like:

  • Phytonutrients from multi-colored fruits & vegetables
  • Nuts & seeds
  • Healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil
  • Clean proteins like grass-fed beef

When you focus on cleaning up your diet & adding in the right lifestyle supports, you can have a body that thrives.
