In today’s fast paced world we forget to stop, slow down & think about our food & why we are eating it in the first place.

Food isn’t solely about nourishment.

Food provides vital information to our body’s internal biochemical systems that keeps us going.

When we put the right foods in, we see positive impact & when we put the wrong foods in, we see negative impact.

Our goal is always to put the right foods in, but when we do so we want to be sure that we fully appreciate everything around this experience which will help make it more purposeful & meaningful.

The next time you sit down to eat, follow these simple strategies & I’m sure you’ll see positive changes about why & how you eat:

*Am I truly hungry?
*Why am I eating this?
*What am I eating?
*How does this make me feel?
*Pretend you are a food judge
*What do you see?
*What do you smell?
*What do you taste?
*What kind of textures do you sense?
*How do you feel after each bite?
*Take 3 deep diaphragmatic breathes before eating
*Eliminate distractions (phone/tv)
*Eat with family and friends
*Eat at dinner table
*Eat on real plates
*Be present with meal
*Give gratitude before you eat
*Take smaller bites
*Chew your food 20-30 times
*Eat slowly & remember to breathe
*Put your fork down between bites
*Eat until you are 80% full
*Think about past food memories/nostalgia sensory responses

So go ahead & give these a try & let me know what you think.
