Hey there, friends!
Today, I want to talk to you about something that is super important for our health and wellness but often gets overlooked: Minerals.
Minerals are essential for so many different things in our bodies, like strong bones, healthy muscles, and a sharp brain.
They are essential nutrients that are required in small amounts to maintain good health.
They are present in many foods and can be obtained from a balanced and varied diet.
But, I know that sometimes it can be hard to know how to make sure we’re getting all the minerals we need.
So, I want to give you some easy action steps that you can take to make sure your body is getting all the minerals it needs to thrive:
- Eat a variety of mineral-rich foods: Leafy greens, nuts, and seeds are all great sources of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Leafy greens such as spinach, kale, and broccoli are excellent sources of calcium, while nuts like almonds and seeds such as pumpkin seeds are great sources of magnesium. Fish and shellfish like salmon, sardines, and shrimp are rich sources of zinc and iodine. Try to include a variety of these foods in your diet every day.
- Plan your meals ahead: Planning your meals ahead of time can help you make sure you’re getting a variety of nutrient-rich foods in your diet. Make a list of different mineral-rich foods you want to include in your meals for the week, and be sure to incorporate them into your diet.
- Get creative with your cooking: Experimenting with different ways of cooking can help you include more mineral-rich foods in your diet. Add in herbs and spices to boost their flavor + provides phytonutrients & polyphenols which your gut will love.
- Incorporate more whole grains: Whole grains such as quinoa, brown rice, and oats are great sources of minerals like magnesium, zinc, and selenium. These whole grains are also rich in dietary fibers and vitamins, which makes them a wonderful addition to a healthy diet.
Minerals are so important for our overall health and wellness, and I hope these action steps make it easy for you to make sure your body is getting all the minerals it needs.
Remember, taking care of yourself is so important, and making sure you’re getting all the essential minerals is just one way to do that.
A balanced and varied diet will help you to achieve optimal mineral intake for your body.
