How do I know this?

Let me tell you a story.

I used to be where you are.

I thought that I was healthy eating a balanced Mediterranean-based diet and riding my bike 50 miles a week and I felt great.

However one day out of the blue I woke up and had FLC (feel like crap) syndrome.

Tired, no energy, no focus, muscle pains, joint pain, digestive issues, you name it.

No idea what triggered all of this.

Traditional and Conventional Medicine

I went to a bunch of traditional doctors and they said everything was normal and that it must all be in my head.

I knew it wasn’t.

I was determined to figure out what was going on with me and how to get better.

Functional Medicine Doctor #1

I eventually found a functional medicine doctor who dove into my WHY and what was the root cause of my problems.

He reviewed my diet and found some flaws in what I thought was good for me and we replaced them with foods that were indeed good for me.

We also added in healthy fats, lots of colorful fruits and vegetables, high-quality proteins, and fiber and had me start some key dietary supplements to help me along.

It took some time, but I felt like my old self again.

I was able to get back on my bike and ride away, spend time with my son and my wife and really enjoy life to the fullest.

Functional Medicine Doctor #2

A few years passed, and we moved unfortunately I had a relapse with my digestive issues again and I worked with another functional doctor to again help define my WHY or root cause.

She determined that I had both small intestinal bowel overgrowth (SIBO) and small intestinal bowel fungal overgrowth (SIFO) which was causing my distress.

Most likely due to not having enough stomach acid to help kill these off.

It took some time, but by following a low FODMAP diet which restricts certain foods with fermentable sugars which act as food for the bad gut bugs, taking natural antimicrobials & antifungals, and the right supplements, I was able to get better again.

This again took some time & patience, but I got better and regained my health.

Life was good again.

No digestive distress, my energy was good, my focus was there, I was eating well and exercising and in the best shape of my life.

A few more years passed and this led us to last December when my digestive issues came back again.


I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing.

This can’t be.

Super frustrating.

Functional Medicine Doctor #3

I started working with another functional medicine doctor who specializes in gut & thyroid health and worked out a plan and we went to work.

This time we were going to break this.

Long story short, after being on a Paleo low FODMAP diet, low FODMAP diet, Paleo diet, relaxed Paleo diet, and elemental diet + taking a bunch of supportive supplements, we were not able to crack this.

My Real WHY?

Right now he’s thinking that I may have mold or heavy metal toxicity.

Waiting on some labs to come back in a few days to help define the next steps.

Hopefully, this will be my real WHY and we can move forward with getting these out of my system and give my body the support it needs to heal and ultimately get me able to feel good again.

What does all of this mean for you?

The key here is to note that health is a dynamic state and it’s not always going to be great.

But if you keep your mind focused, stay determined, and be patient, it is possible to regain your health and wellness.

It’s been my own health journey that got me to where I am today.

I found a huge gap with the health system working directly with clients in a certain way to help provide support and guidance specific to men’s health and have now made it my new life journey to fill this void.

To be able to help men like you who have tried all the conventional approaches to your health and wellness to no avail and were told it’s all in your head.

The time is now to focus on a new model for your health that will help move the needle in the right direction to get you feeling like you used to with optimized energy, focus, stamina, and vitality so that you can get back to all the fun things you used to do.

Like playing with your kids, enjoying the sports and exercise you used to do, and better yet just being able to enjoy life to its fullest.
