Improve Your Sleep Quality & Manage Stress Better
Quality Sleep & Low Stress = Happy You
Two of the most important lifestyle skills that I can help you to optimize are how you can improve sleep quality and manage your daily life stress.
When these two are off, you’ll know it.
- Feel tired all the time?
- Don’t want to get out of bed?
- Can’t focus at work?
- Get angry for no reason?
- Become anxious or depressed?
You’re not alone.
Optimize Your Sleep And Lessen Your Stress Today
When These Are Off, So Are You
Sleep is the time that your body needs to recover from the day by flushing out toxins, rebuilding muscle, and learning memories from the day.
When your sleep is off these processes don’t work as well and your stress hormones become unbalanced.
Your goal is to improve sleep quality and quantity of sleep.
Stress is unavoidable in today’s world, but the key is to learn the right techniques to be able to manage it.
Stress, which can include things like having a busy day, not dealing with your emotions, lacking boundaries, and worrying about things outside of your control, initiates a cascade of events as your body shifts into a “fight or flight” response, activating your sympathetic nervous system and elevates your adrenal stress hormones like cortisol.
Over time, if you don’t address sleep and stress the right way, they will lead to chronic inflammation, which in turn can manifest into a wide array of negative health conditions, just as eating the wrong foods can.
What I'll Teach You In My Functional Nutrition Program
The good news is that in my 3-month functional nutrition & lifestyle program, you’ll learn my proven lifestyle tactics to help get you feeling your best again. Here’s a sample of some of the tactics that I’ll teach you.
Sleep hygiene targeted to improve the quality of your sleep:
- Target 7-9 hours of actual sleep each day
- Keep a consistent sleep & wake schedule every day to set your circadian rhythm
- Get exposed to natural sunlight for 10-20 minutes within the 1st hour of waking up
- Keep your bedroom as dark as possible
- Turn down the thermostat to 60-68 degrees
Stress reduction targeted to help lessen your stress burden:
- Unplug from technology for a day
- Relax with a good book (on paper)
- Learn to say “no” when your schedule is too full
- Don’t take life so seriously and be sure to get in a daily dose or two of laughter
- Take a primal scream moment and just let it go
When you work to incorporate what I’ll teach you around sleep and stress reduction into your daily life, you will begin to see an improvement in your mood, energy, cognition and overall well being and be back doing all the things you love again.
